Using Photos in CampaignTrack :: WDA Group

Part of getting the most out of CampaignTrack is ensuring that your photos are of a suitably high quality for print reproduction. This brief article highlights some potential problems with property photos, and how to avoid them.

Before Uploading Your Photos

The rapid uptake of digital cameras has seen many agents using their own digital cameras for photos placed in brochures and advertising. However, there are a number of things you should remember to do before taking photos and uploading them into CampaignTRACK:

  • Mobile Phone cameras (even high-end ones) are not suitable for use with CampaignTrack.
Squishing a camera into the tiny space available inside a mobile phone involves a lot of compromise. DO NOT use your mobile telephone to take property photographs, unless you are prepared to accept disappointing results.
  • Always set your camera to take photographs at the largest size and highest quality possible.
This will ensure that your photos look good in small ads as well as on brochures, where the photos will be larger. Every camera is different, so you should consult your camera manual to ensure that this is done correctly.
  • Review photos on your computer screen before uploading them to CampaignTrack.
If they are blurry, poorly exposed or too light or dark, that’s how they will look in print.
  • Don’t upload “web” sized images into CampaignTrack.
While CampaignTrack is a website, “web” images are not supposed to be used in print. As a rule, photos that are less than 500KB in size are probably too small for use in CampaignTrack.
  • If you use a professional photographer, always ask them to provide the highest resolution images possible.
If you tell your photographer that you’ll only be using your images on a website, they may only give you small, low-resolution images, which are not suitable for print. If your photographer cannot supply you with images at are at least 3000 x 2000 pixels in size, you may encounter instances where your photos will be unsuitable for use, and risk poor reproduction.
